Charles Rojas is a musician, actor, and filmmaker based in NYC.

The son of Ecuadorian and Venezuelan immigrants, he grew up in Southeast Los Angeles with a blend of Hispanic and American culture. Music was hereditary in his family, from his abuelo playing Ecuadorian music on classical guitar, to his older brother playing Rock on electric guitar. Just like them, Charles learned guitar, but took an additional step of attending Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. After graduating with Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and a Minor in Audio Production, he worked as a composer for Squeak E. Clean Studios, scoring dozens of commercials for clients such as Google, Meta, and Toyota.

While he was working full-time as a composer, he became increasingly curious about studying Acting & Filmmaking. He began with classes at Santa Monica College, where he starred in the student short film With a Single Leg directed by Gabriel Santos. Outside of class, Charles kept learning by writing, directing, and acting in his own short films. Dennis Sandoval, who produced With a Single Leg, went on to direct the independent feature film Salsipuedes Street and cast Charles in the lead role.

In 2018, Charles moved from Los Angeles to New York City, where he acted in commercials, student films at Brooklyn College, and took additional classes at Stella Adler. He began releasing original music as a solo artist, performing live at venues like Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, The Mint in LA, and the Ruby Room in Tokyo. In 2024, he released his debut full-length album Plans Fall Through and joined SAG-AFTRA.

Today, Charles continues to work professionally as a multi-hyphenate creative. He freelances as a music composer/producer, filmmaker/editor, and continues his acting training at the SAG-AFTRA Conservatory and additional classes. He is currently recording a new album of original songs, and writing a short film to act in and direct in 2027.
